In the book Education, Adventist author Ellen G. White states, "In the highest sense the work of education and redemption are one." Adventists believe that "true education is the harmonious development of all faculties- a full and adequate preparation for this life and the future eternal life." The purpose of education, seen as the work of redemption, is to promote the development of the whole being- body, mind and soul, so that the image of God will be restored in man. The Adventist educational system has been established on these principles.
